Lake Jaunay is a hidden gem of nature located in the heart of the region. It is a stunning nature reserve, with its shores lined with lush greenery. It provides an idyllic setting for guests of the 5-star Yelloh! Village Le Pin Parasol campsite and nature enthusiasts, thanks to direct access from the campsite.
Discovering this Nature Reserve
Lake Jaunay spans 114 hectares and offers an exceptional natural setting. Its waters -always calm and unruffled-, wooded shores, and hidden coves make it a favourite spot for nature lovers and those seeking serenity. Although it is an artificial lake, formed by a dam on the Jaunay River, its landscapes evoke those of an impressionist painting.
One of the unique features of Lake Jaunay is its biodiversity. Surrounded by varied vegetation, including tall grasses, reeds, and weeping willows, it is home to a rich array of wildlife, particularly many species of migratory birds.
Visitors can enjoy walking paths that wind around the lake, offering splendid views and prime observation points. Put on your hiking boots or trainers, as the network of trails surrounding the lake stretches for 12 kilometres. It’s perfect for a half-day trip, with the opportunity to have a picnic in the heart of nature along the lake’s shores, all accompanied by the sounds of birds and the vibrant wildlife. From the Le Pin Parasol campsite, the lake is easily accessible, with a gate from the campsite offering direct access! There’s nothing better than waking up early to enjoy a morning jog in this peaceful environment before reuniting with your family for the day.
Good to know: Swimming and motorised boats are prohibited across the entire lake. If you want to take a dip and cool off, make the most of our two large aquatic areas!

Follow the Pré path and embark on a 20-minute walk from your Le Pin Parasol campsite to discover Calins Ca ânes, the Jaunay donkey sanctuary.
