The Machines de l’île are a must-see during your holiday near Nantes, just an hour's drive from your campsite.
In a former shipyard, a unique workshop has come to life, driven by a team of bold creators.
Inspired by the world of Jules Verne, the inventions of Leonardo da Vinci, and the industrial spirit of the Nantes harbour; their imagination soars from the heights of trees to the depths of the ocean, passing through the savannah, giving birth to a menagerie of animated machines that seem to escape from their workshop…
On the very site where large ships were once built, these gigantic mechanical structures invite you to open the doors to imagination and the fantastical. A unique experience awaits your family during your holiday at Le Pin Parasol campsite!
This is undoubtedly the centrepiece of the Machines de l’île.
Standing 12 metres tall and weighing around 48 tonnes, this majestic mechanical elephant can carry up to 50 passengers on its back for a ride around the site.
Made from wood and metal, it is animated by hydraulic pistons that bring it to life. The elephant moves with unprecedented grace, its trunk spraying refreshing jets of water into the air, while its large ears sway to the rhythm of its steps.
Travelling around the site on the back of this giant is an adventure where the fantastical becomes reality, and it will be one of your best holiday memories at Le Pin Parasol campsite! Your children's eyes will light up!
Extend your visit! On the banks of the Loire, just steps from the mechanical gallery, a giant carousel 25 metres high, unique in its kind, immerses you in an enchanted world inspired by marine creatures.
Spread over three levels, embark on an exploration of the ocean depths, venture into the mysterious abysses, and rise to the surface for a spectacular view. Each level reveals extraordinary, animated marine creatures: a flying fish, a giant crab, a majestic jellyfish…
This wonderful creation blends the enchantment of fairground rides with the magic of the underwater world. Just like your children, you will leave this visit with stars in your eyes! A getaway like no other…
